JUDGMENT / ORDER

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner sought a direction to expedite the trial pending on the file of the Judicial Magistrate No.1, Thiruvallur.

2. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that if 6 months time is granted for completion of trial, it would be suffice.
3. In view of the submissions of the learned counsel appearing for both sides, there shall be a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate No.1, Thiruvallur to expedite the trial in C.C.No.361 of 2011 and complete the same within six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
4. The Criminal Original Petition is ordered on the above terms.
5. It is needless to point out that the petitioner shall not have any grievance if the trial is unable to be completed within 6 months owing to delay on his part.
