Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a writ of Mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to consider their representation dated 3.3.2017 addressed to him and to the 1st respondent as well and accordingly issue joint patta in their favour for their land measuring an extent of 1908 Sq.ft. comprised in Survey No.265/17 situated at Nadhu Street, Thirumazhapadi Village and Post, Ariyalur Taluk and District, within such period as may be directed by this court.
For Petitioner : Mr.C.P.Sivamohan For Respondents : Mr.A.N.Thambidurai Special Government Pleader ORDER The petitioners have filed the above writ petition to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to consider their representation dated 03.03.2017 and issue joint patta in their favour for their land measuring an extent of 1908 Sq.ft. comprised in Survey No.265/17 situated at Nadhu Street, Thirumazhapadi Village and Post, Ariyalur Taluk and District, within a time frame.
2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that in spite of the petitioners' representation dated 03.03.2017, the 2nd respondent has not considered the same and issued patta.
3. Mr.A.N.Thambidurai, learned Special Government Pleader, taking notice for the respondents submitted that the 2nd respondent may be directed to consider the petitioners' representation and pass orders, in accordance with law.
4. Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, taking into consideration the limited prayer sought for in the writ petition, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the second respondent to consider the petitioners' representation dated 03.03.2017 for issuance of patta and pass orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
