JUDGMENT / ORDER

THE HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE D.KRISHNAKUMAR W.P.No.17903 of 2013 and MP.No.1 of 2013 Writ Petition under Article 226 of The Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to issue order of appointment in favour of the petitioner, within a time frame.
For Petitioner : No appearance For Respondent : Mrs.P.Rajalakshmi, Government Advocate O R D E R The petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition for the relief stated above.
2. In the affidavit filed in support of the Writ Petition, it is stated that the petitioner had obtained Diploma in Teacher Training Education from the Government of Tamil Nadu. He applied for the post of Secondary Grade Teacher with the respondent pursuant to the notification of vacancy published by the respondent. He appeared for the Tamil Nadu Teachers Eligibility Test (TNTET) Paper I and he got through the test and was called for Certificate Verification on 9.11.2012. Subsequently, the candidates who were not able to attend on 9.11.2012, were given a last opportunity to attend Certificate Verification on 10.12.2012. The petitioner appeared on 10.12.2012 and produced all the mark sheets and his qualifying certificates. The petitioner did not receive any information thereafter. Therefore, he filed the present Writ Petition.
3. Assailing the allegations of the petitioner, the respondent has filed a counter affidavit. In the Counter Affidavit, it is stated that the petitioner appeared for the Tamil Nadu Teachers Eligibility Test (TNTET) Paper I and he got through the test and was called for Certificate Verification on 9.11.2012 and that the Respondent Board extended a last and final opportunity to attend Certificate Verification on 10.11.2012 for some reasons and that he appeared before the respondent on 10.12.2012 and produced all the marks sheet and at the time of certificate verification, it was noticed that the petitioner has not produced the valid employment renewal certificate. Further, it is stated that, thereafter, the Board considered the petitioner for selection in 2013 recruitment. The petitioner belongs to Scheduled Caste (G) Category. The last candidate selected in Scheduled Caste (G) turn is 68.56. The petitioner has secured only 64.96 marks. Since the petitioner has not secured eligible cut off marks, he was not considered for selection.
4. In view of the above facts and as no case is made out to grant the relief, the Writ Petition is liable to be dismissed and accordingly, dismissed. Connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. No costs.
