By means of this writ petition the petitioner has made a prayer for issuing a direction to the respondent no. 2-District Magistrate to consider the application of the petitioner with regard to transfer of arms and arms license from the father of the petitioner in the name of the petitioner.
It is submitted that for such a transfer police report is required to be filed by the police authorities before the licensing authority, but the police has not proceeded in the matter and submitted its report, therefore, a direction is also sought to the respondent no. 3 to file an appropriate report so that the claim of the petitioner for transfer of arms and arms license may be considered by the District Magistrate.
The writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent no. 3 to initiate proceedings for submitting police report before respondent no. 2 for considering the claim of the petitioner with regard to transfer of arms and arms license. The said police report be submitted within a period of one month from the date a certified copy of this order is presented before respondent no. 3 and thereafter respondent no. 2 will consider the claim of the petitioner and pass appropriate order, as far as possible, within a period of three months from the date the said police report is submitted before it.
