JUDGMENT Heard.
2. This appeal is filed by the University Grants Commission (‘UGC’ for short).
3. The petitioner before the Hon’ble Single Judge is the Karnataka State Open University (‘KSOU’ for short). The Hon’ble Single Judge had directed the UGC to grant recognition to KSOU for the academic year 2017-18. However, recognition was not granted.
4. On behalf of respondent – KSOU, a memo dated 12.12.2018 has been filed stating that recognition has been granted for the year 2018-19 and the KSOU is satisfied with the said order. Shri T.P. Rajendra Kumar Sungay, learned advocate submits that KSOU does not pursue the matter with regard to recognition for the year 2017-18.

6. In the circumstances, this writ appeal is disposed of as having become infructuous.
7. In view of disposal of the main appeal, I.A.No.1/2018 for stay does not arise for consideration and it is accordingly disposed of.
No costs.
