Mr.R.Rajeswaran, learned Special Government Pleader Counsel takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the main writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. The petitioner has filed the above writ petition to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to take necessary action on her representation dated 17.03.2017.
3. It is the case of the petitioner that she is the daughter of Dr.Alagappa Chettiar and also the Secretary of the Dr. Alagappa Chettiar Educational Trust. It is the further case of the petitioner that the building viz., Krishna Vilas was offered as a courtesy to use as residential bungalow for the then Education Minister in the year 1984. However, the said building has not been returned back to the Trust till date inspite of the petitioner's repeated requests. The petitioner made a representation on 17.03.2017 to the 1st respondent to handover the building to the Trust. However, the respondents have not passed any order so far.
4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the respondents may be directed to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 17.03.2017, in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks.
5. Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 17.03.2017 and pass orders in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
With this observation, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
