JUDGMENT / ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to to call for the records and quash the proceedings in C.C.No.1609 of 2008 pending on the file of the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate for CCB/CBCID, Allikulam (Egmore) at Chennai.
2. By consent of both sides, the main petition is taken up for final disposal.
3. The case of the petitioners is that A.1 was working at Anna Nagar Branch. Due to the renovation and interior work held in the branch, all the staff were forced to use one computer and A.1 has illegally found out the passwords of others and used the same to divert the funds to the various fictitious accounts and withdrew the amount. It is also stated in the petition that the petitioners/co- accused did not have any knowledge about the acts and deeds of A.1. However, the petitioners have been arrayed as accused on the allegation that they have not properly verified the accounts and having committed slackness in the work. The first petitioner retired from service on 30.06.2013 and the second petitioner retired from service on 31.05.2016 and the retirement benefits have not been disbursed to the petitioners on the ground that the petitioners are facing the above criminal case and hence they have filed the present petition seeking for the above relief.
4. The learned counsel for the petitioners reiterated the averments in the petitiion and also submitted that number of witnesses have been examined earlier and the case is getting prolonged unnecessarily. Therefore, the petitioners have filed the present petition seeking for the above relief.
5. On the other hand, the learned Additional Public Prosector submitted that sofar 16 witnesses have been examined and the remining witnesses are also to be examined.
6. To give quietus, this Court is inclined to direct the trial Court to dispose of the case. Accordingly, the learned Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate for CCB/CBCID, Allikulam (Egmore) at Chennai is directed to dispose of the case in C.C.No.1609 of 2008 on day today basis as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With the above direction, the criminal original petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected Crl.MPs are closed.
