The sole prayer made in the instant petition is for issuing direction to the Prescribed Authority, before whom Rent Case No.51 of 2012 under Section 21 (1) (a) of U.P. Act No.13 of 1972 is pending, to decide the same within a specified time frame.
A perusal of the order sheet reveals that Presiding Officer is on leave since last two dates.
As soon as the Presiding Officer resumes his duties, it is open to the petitioners to file an application before him for expeditious disposal of the case. In that event, the Presiding Officer shall proceed with the case with a sense of urgency, without granting unnecessary adjournments to the parties, having regard to the fact that the proceedings are pending since the year 2012.
The petition stands disposed of accordingly.
