JUDGMENT / ORDER

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. Mr.R.A.Senthilvel, learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the respondent.
2 The petitioner would state that he belongs to Backward Class Muslim category and at the time of applying for selection to the post of Office Assistant in the services of the respondent, he was aged about 31 years and however, at the time of interview on 29.12.2016, he was not allowed to participate in the interview, on the ground that he has crossed the age limit of 32 years. Aggrieved by the same, he has come forward to file the present writ petition.
3 The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that at the time of initiation of the selection process, the petitioner was well within the prescribed age limit and for belated conducting of the interview, the petitioner cannot be put to blame and therefore, prays for appropriate orders.
4 Per contra, Mr.R.A.S.Senthilvel, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent would contend that at the time of interview, the petitioner has crossed the prescribed age limit and as such, he was not permitted to attend the interview.
5 Be that as it may, this Court grants liberty to the petitioner to submit a representation to the respondent in this regard, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and upon receipt of the same, the respondent is directed to consider the said representation on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a further period of three weeks thereafter and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
6 The writ petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
