1. Heard Mr. Aripit Agarwal, learned counsel for the petitioners and learned Standing counsel for the respondents.
2. It is admitted by learned counsel for petitioners that lease granted to petitioners, in respect of land in question, has expired and its renewal has been declined by authority concerned and a detailed order has been passed on petitioners' representation, pursuant to direction given by this Court vide judgement dated 8.4.2014, passed in Writ Petition No. 40280 of 2014.
3. Executive Engineer, Nichali Math (Branch Division) Ganga Canal Mathura, has passed order dated 24.6.2019, stating that for protection of environment and to achieve target of plantation, it has been decided that in respect of land suitable for agricultural purposes, after completion of lease period, renewal shall not be allowed. Consequently, renewal of same has been declined.
4. Learned counsel for petitioners submitted that if land is allotted in future, preference be given as per relevant Government Orders to petitioners, but that is not the issue at this stage.
5. Suffice it to say that despite repeated query, learned counsel for the petitioners could not point out any manifest error or illegality in the impugned order, hence, there is no reason to interfere with the same.
6. Writ petition lacks merit and is, accordingly, dismissed.
