Sri Anand Prakash Dubey learned Advocate has put in appearance on behalf of respondent.
The petitioners herein seek for quashing of the FIR dated 27.10.2020 registered as Case Crime No.402 if 2020 under Sections 498A, 307, 506 I.P.C 7 3/4 Dowry Prohibition Act & 3/4 Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act, 2019 P.S-Jani, District-Meerut.
The contention of learned counsel for the petitioners is that the allegations in the first information report are concocted, in as much as, in the criminal complaint the victim wife had given a statement that she had caught fire by accident and it was not the act of the accused/petitioners herein.
Be that as it may, the merits of the allegations in the first information report cannot be examined by this Court.
From the averments in the first information report, it cannot be said that it does not disclose commission of a cognizable offence.
For the aforesaid, the writ petition is found devoid of merit and hence dismissed.
