JUDGMENT / ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by M.JAICHANDREN, J.]
Heard the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner, as well as the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondents.
2. This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed by the wife of the detenu praying that this Court may be pleased to issue a direction to the first respondent to produce the husband of the petitioner, namely Vasantha Kumar, S/o.G.K.Perumal, aged about 31 years. The petitioner has stated that she had married the detenu, on 30.04.2010, at Thiruporur. Thereafter, they have been living together, as husband and wife. While so, the detenue had gone missing, on 16.04.2016. Therefore, the petitioner had caused a complaint before the third respondent, on 11.05.2016. The said complaint had been registered, in Crime No.2231 of 2016. As no effective steps had been taken to trace the detenu, the petitioner has approached this Court with this petition.
3. A status report has been filed on behalf of the third respondent showing the steps taken by the second respondent to trace the detenu. It has been stated that the detenu had taken a sum of Rs.12,00,000/-, from his father G.K.Perumal, as a loan. As the detenu had not been in a position to pay back the said loan, to his father, he had gone missing. It has also been stated that the third respondent is taking all necessary steps to trace the detenu and to produce him before this Court.
4. Under such circumstances, we are of the view that no further order is necessary in this petition and hence, this petition is closed. However, it goes without saying that the third respondent shall continue the investigation to trace the detenu.
