Petitioner's father was employed initially on daily wage basis as a Class-IV employee in the respondent University in 1987, and his services are stated to have been regularized on 14.8.2014. Father of the petitioner is stated to have died in harness on 28.11.2016. Petitioner, thereafter, has moved an application for grant of compassionate appointment, which has remained pending, and no decision has yet been taken, hence this petition.
Sri Prakash Padia, learned counsel appearing for the respondent University, states that grievance of petitioner shall be examined, in accordance with law.
Considering the above, this writ petition stands disposed of permitting the petitioner to approach respondent no.3, alongwith certified copy of this order, within two weeks from today. Claim of petitioner for grant of compassionate appointment shall be considered by the University in terms of the applicable scheme relating to engagement of persons on compassionate basis, within a further period of three months, thereafter.
