JUDGMENT / ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed challenging the proceedings in C.C.No.93 of 2016 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Ambattur, Chennai and to quash the same.
2. Though the prayer sought for in this petition is for quashing the aforesaid proceedings, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that he would be satisfied, if a direction is issued to the trial court to expedite the trial in the impugned proceedings.
3. In view of the said submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, there shall be a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate, Ambattur, Chennai to expedite the trial in C.C.No.93 of 2016 and conclude the same, within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
4. At this juncture,the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the personal appearance of the parties may be dispensed with.
5. In my view, since it is a case in counter, it would be appropriate for the concerned learned Judicial Magistrate to consider the petitioners' request.
6. In this background, the petitioner shall approach the concerned Judicial Magistrate with an application, seeking to dispense with the personal appearance of the petitioner and on receipt of same, the learned Judicial Magistrate shall dispose of the same on the very same day, on its own merits
7. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed. 04.09.2017 Index:Yes/No nl/arr To
