By means of this writ petition the petitioner claims herself to be Anudeshak in Purva Madhyamik Vidyalaya maintained by the Basic Education Board. She was engaged for a period of 11 months on contract basis. It is submitted that in the case of Municipal Corporation of Delhi Vs. Female Workers (Muster Roll) and another reported in 2000 (3) SCC 224 it has been provided that female contractual employee and all kinds of female employees would be entitled to maternity leave.
The writ petition is disposed of with the direction that the District Basic Education Officer, Lalitpur may consider the claim of the petitioner in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders.
