This petition for writ is before us to challenge the order dated 27 March 2018 passed under Section 5 of Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 read with Rule 21 of the Rules of Uttar Pradesh Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Rules, 2014.
Such an order is appealable under Section 16 of the Act of 2007. It is stated by the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State that Appellate Authority is functional at Aligarh.
Looking to the factual background, we are not inclined to entertain this petition for writ. The petitioners may avail remedy provided under Section 16 of the Act of 2007. If the petitioners file an appeal within a period of seven days from today, the Appellate Authority shall consider the same on merits.
The writ petition is dismissed.
