The petitioner was working as a Senior Manager in Canara Bank, Kasipalayam Branch and he submitted an appeal for promotion as Senior Manager Grade Scale-IV vide representation dated 01.04.2016 and the 3rd respondent by communication dated 14.12.2016 has rejected the said appeal. The petitioner, aggrieved by the rejection of the appeal, filed a review before the 1st respondent dated 04.01.2017. Though it was received and acknowledged on 07.01.2017, so far no orders have been passed. Therefore, he came forward to file this writ petition.
2. Mr.V.Anandhamurthy learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that it would be suffice to direct the 1st respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's application/ representation on merits and in accordance with law within the stipulated time frame.
3. This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer sought for and without going into the merits of the claim projected by the petitioner, directs the first respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's review application dated 04.01.2017, on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
