The disputed question agitated in this writ petition is with respect to payment of salary arrears and increments allegedly due to the petitioner, who was working as 'Security Guard' under the 2nd respondent, which is an autonomous body of the State Government, since now renamed as 'The Kerala State Centre for Advanced Printing & Training'. The petitioner claimed arrears to the tune of Rs.70,282/- on the basis of Ext.P1 series which are details furnished from various centres of the 2nd respondent. 2. During pendency of this writ petition, based on interim directions issued by this court, part payment was effected by the 2nd respondent. The 2nd respondent had filed counter affidavit admitting that, out of the total arrears payable to the petitioner amounting to Rs.59,683/- an amount of Rs.20,000/- was paid from the Sub Centres at Kottayam and Thodupuzha @ Rs.10,000/- each, for the

financial year 2005-2006 and Rs.2,116/- was paid on 18/05/2009. It is admitted that the total arrears of salary was an amount of Rs.31,266/-. Subsequently by virtue of interim directions issued by this court, the said amount was also paid. But the petitioner maintains a stand that, the total arrears due was Rs.70,282/- and not Rs.59,683/-. However an adjudication on the dispute with respect to the computation of arrears cannot be undertaken in this writ petition. Hence this court is of the opinion that the petitioner can be given liberty to approach the appropriate authority in the 2nd respondent with further claims if any subsists.
3. Therefore, this writ petition is disposed of by reserving liberty to the petitioner as mentioned above. Needless to observe that if any further claim is raised by the petitioner, the same shall be considered by the 2nd respondent and an appropriate decision shall be taken without any further delay.
