Heard Sri V.P.Srivastava, learned senior counsel assisted by Sri V.P.Singh, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned standing counsel for the respondents.
The petitioners in the writ petition are seeking a directing to the respondents to provide them security gunner as their lives are stated to be under threat and their nephew has been murdered.
It is stated that on the representation of the petitioners a letter dated 30.1.2019 was issued by the local intelligence unit, Gautam Budh Nagar to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Gautam Budh Nagar, respondent no.2 for providing them security gunner but nothing has been done till date.
No useful purpose will be served by keeping the matter pending.
We, therefore, dispose of this writ petition with the direction that if the petitioners submit a fresh representation before the District Magistrate, Gautam Budh Nagar, respondent no.2 along with a certified copy of this order in respect of the claim raised in this writ petition within 15 days from today, the respondent no.2 shall consider and decide the claim of the petitioners in accordance with law expeditiously preferably within a period of 2 months thereafter.
It is made clear that the Court has not adjudicated the claim of the petitioners on merits.
