The petitioner has come up with this Writ Petition seeking a direction to the respondent to furnish the particulars of the property comprised in S.No.169B/14B, No.145, Arunkundram Village, Thiruporur Taluk, Kancheepuram District, based on his application under the RTI Act, dated 29.08.2016.
2. According to the petitioner, he is the owner of the property comprised in S.No.169B/14B, No.145, Arunkundram Village, Thirupporur Taluk, Kancheepuram District, admeasuring 27 cents. The case of the petitioner is that when he approached the Tahsildar, Tirupporur Taluk seeking issuance of patta in his name, he was informed by the officials that it is difficult to issue a separate Patta in his name. Hence, the petitioner filed an application on 29.08.2016 under the RTI Act to answer his questions pertaining to the subject property. Since no reply is forthcoming from the respondent, the petitioner is before this Court.
3. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the material documents available on record.
4. Undoubtedly, information sought under the Right to Information Act has to be provided within a stipulated period. But, the petitioner has approached this Court without exhausting his remedy before the First Appellate Authority. Hence, this Writ Petition is dismissed with liberty to the petitioner to approach the First Appellate Authority in respect of his grievance. No costs. Consequently, connected W.M.P.No.2617 of 2017 is closed.
