Mrs.R.Nivetha vs Ministry Of Human Resources ...

Madras High Court|04 September, 2017

JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioner is aggrieved by the proceedings of the second respondent dated 18.03.2015, wherein and whereby the petitioner's request for evaluating her B.Ed., degree course obtained from Anna Technological University, Chattisgarh, was refused on the reason that the said institution was not in the approved list of University Grants Commission for evaluation of the degree granted by the said institution.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing for the third respondent University.
3. A counter affidavit is filed by the second respondent, wherein it is stated that the petitioner obtained B.Ed degree in Anna Technological University, Chattisgarh, which is not mentioned in the approved list and the guidelines for the evaluation of the degree certificates of Technology obtained from the Universities outside the State as per the proceedings dated 01.06.1988 and also in the distance Education University India.
4. Upon hearing both sides, it is evident that the petitioner had obtained B.Ed., degree from an institution, which is not in the approved list of UGC and the guidelines issued by the Government, with regard to the Distance Education Universities. Therefore, I do not find any infirmity or illegality in the impugned order passed against the petitioner, rejecting her request for evaluation of B.Ed., degree based on the above said reason.
5. Accordingly, the writ petition fails and the same is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
