JUDGMENT / ORDER

By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.
2. Mr.M.Alagathevan, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents.
3. The petitioner is before this Court questioning the impugned proceedings of the first respondent in e.f.vz;:4119/M1/2016, dated 19.09.2017, vide which, the petitioner was directed to pay a sum of Rs.12,23,258/- towards stamp duty with a penalty of Rs.6,742/-. The petitioner also sought for a direction to the respondents to release the Partition Deed in ep.M.vz;.10/2016.
4. This Court is of the view that this writ petition itself is not maintainable, since the petitioner came before this Court challenging the order of the District Registrar, Registration Department, when there is a provision to prefer an appeal before the Inspector General of Registration, Chennai.
5. Hence, this Court is not inclined to entertain this petition and the same is accordingly dismissed, with liberty to the petitioner to file an appeal before the Inspector General of Registration, Chennai, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
