JUDGMENT / ORDER

This petition has been filed for a direction to dispose the M.C.No.20 of 2016 on the file of the Family Court, Salem within a time frame.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner.
3. In view of the limited relief sought under this petition, this Court considers it is not necessary to issue notice to the respondent.
4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that a petition moved on behalf of the minor child of the respondent seeking maintenance, has been pending consideration before the Court below, since 06.05.2016.
5. Perusal of the adjudication proceedings, informs that between 30.05.2016 and 23.01.2017, the case has been adjourned as many as on ten occasions, for the respondent-father to file a counter. Thereafter, the matter has been again adjourned to 23.02.2017 for enquiry, on which date, the matter was further adjourned to 07.03.2017.
6. Considering the inordinate delay in proceedings, this Court considers it appropriate to direct the learned Judge, Family Court, Salem to dispose of the M.C.No.20 of 2016 within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with the above direction.
