Heard Sri R.K. Mishra, learned counsel for petitioner and learned Standing counsel for the State respondent.
The present writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India has been filed for direction to respondent No. 2 and 3 District Magistrate and City Magistrate, Kanpur Nagar, to take final decision to the application of the petitioner dated 5.10.2020 seeking extension of period of purchase the Fire Arm Revolver/Pistol for his Licence No. 13354 (Unique No. 336101000161512017) within the stipulated period of time.
It is submitted by learned counsel for petitioner that license has already been granted to the petitioner. But he could not purchase the fire arm. The petitioner filed an application dated 5.10.2020 for extension of period for purchasing the fire, which remain pending till date.
Learned Standing Counsel submits that no useful purpose would be served in keeping the writ petition pending and an appropriate direction may be issued to respondent No. 2 District Magistrate, Kanpur Nagar, to consider the grievance of the petitioner.
Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, without going into the merit of the case and with the consent of the parties, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No. 2 District Magistrate, Kanpur Nagar, to decide the application of the petitioner within a period of six months from the date of production of computerized copy of this order.
The concerned Court/Authority/Official shall verify the authenticity of such computerized copy of the order from the official website of High Court Allahabad and shall act accordingly without waiting for submission of the certified copy of this order.
