JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioners have filed the above Writ Petition to issue a writ of mandamus directing the the 1st respondent to conclude the enquiry pursuant to the proceedings of the 7th respondent dated 28.03.2013 by considering the petitioners' documents and written submissions dated 12.09.2011 and restore the patta in the name of petitioners in respect of lands in Old Survey No.2/1B Part, New S.Nos.2/9, 2/11, 2/12, 2/13 of Salavankuppam Village, Chengalpattu Taluk, Kanchipuram District.
2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that though the enquiry proceeding is pending before the 1st respondent for a long time, the same has not yet been concluded by the 1st respondent.
3. Mr.S.N.Parthasarathi, learned Government Advocate taking notice for the respondents submitted that the 1st respondent may be directed to decide the enquiry proceedings in accordance with law, within a time frame.
4.Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, taking into consideration the limited prayer sought for in this Writ Petition, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the 1st respondent to decide the enquiry proceedings on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5.With these observations, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
