THIS PETITION COMING ON FOR PRELIMINARY HEARING IN ‘B’ GROUP, THIS DAY, THE COURT MADE THE FOLLOWING:-
ORDER In the instant petition, petitioner has sought for the following reliefs:
(a) To issue a Writ of Mandamus or such other appropriate Writ or Orders or directions, directing the respondent to forthwith dispose of the case pending before him for renewal of CL-2 Licence for the year 2017-18 of the petitioner under Section 29 of the Karnataka Excise Act.
(b) To award costs and grant such other relief as this Hon’ble Court deems fit and expedient in the circumstances of the case, in the ends of justice.
2. During the pendency of the present petition, the Deputy Commissioner, Mysuru District, Mysuru has passed an order on 31.10.2018 itself rejecting the petitioner’s grievance relating to renewal of CL-2 licence. Thus, petition has become infructuous and is dismissed accordingly. However, petitioner is at liberty to question the validity of the order dated 31.10.2018. With the above observation, petition stands disposed of.
