The case of the petitioner is that her husband is confined in District Jail, Kasganj. In connection with proceedings pending against him, he may have to travel from District Jail to the Court to put in appearance. The court proceedings are pending in District Azamgarh and there is a threat to the life of the petitioner while in transit. To ensure that his life is protected, a representation has been made by the petitioner to the Superintendent of Police, Azamgarh and the Superintendent of Police, Kasganj.
This petition has been filed for a direction on police respondents to ensure protection to the petitioner's husband. But in the entire petition there is no disclosure of any incident which may generate an apprehension of threat to the life of petitioner's husband. Otherwise also, it is expected that a prisoner during transit for appearance in court proceedings would have adequate security protection.
Under these circumstances, we decline to issue any specific direction upon the authorities concerned but it is observed that the authorities shall ensure that adequate security is provided during transit from District Jail to the Court.
