JUDGMENT / ORDER

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. Mrs.Rita Chandrasekar, learned Standing Counsel accepts notice on behalf of the sole respondent.
2 The daughter of the petitioner, viz., K.Gayathri, secured 485 marks out of 500 marks in SSLC, with a percentage of 97 and in Higher Secondary Course, has secured 1119 marks out of 1200 marks and by virtue of her best academic performance, she was selected for admission to B.Tech [Bio Technology] in Bharathidasan Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli during the year 2014. the petitioner, who is the mother of the student K.Gayathri, would aver that her husband has studied upto 8th standard and she is not educated and that her husband is eking out his livelihood as a menial worker in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and in the light of the poor economic background, an application has been submitted to the respondent / Bank for getting educational loan and though the said application was received on 18.11.2015, it has not been processed and the required loan amount is yet to be disbursed to her and they have arranged for payment of fees, by borrowing loans etc., and in this regard, the petitioner has submitted a representation dated 31.01.2017 to the respondent and in spite of receipt and acknowledgment, so far no orders have been passed and hence, she came forward to file this writ petition.
3 The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that in the light of the fact that the petitioner is hailing from a family of poor economic background and in the event of obtaining degree, the petitioner's daughter is the first graduate in her family and the duty is cast upon the respondent to process the educational loan application expeditiously and sanction the loan ; but unfortunately, they have failed to do so and therefore, the petitioner is constrained to approach this Court by filing the present writ petition.
4 Per contra, Mrs.Rita Chandrasekar, learned Standing Counsel of M/s.Aiyar and Dolia, appearing for the respondent would submit that the plea made by the petitioner, will be considered and the application for educational loan will be processed and appropriate orders will be passed as expeditiously as possible.
5 This Court, taking into consideration, the above facts and circumstances, directs the respondent to consider the educational loan application submitted by Ms.K.Gayathri, as well as the representation dated 31.01.2017 submitted by her mother / the writ petitioner herein, on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate positive orders as expeditiously as possible, and not later than three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
