Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for the respondents.
With the consent of the counsel for the parties, the writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage.
The sole contention of the petitioner is that the application filed by the petitioner before the District Magistrate, Aligarh on 18.12.2018 for issuance of fire arm licence, is pending and no decision is taken by the District Magistrate, Aligarh.
Having heard the learned counsel for the parties, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the District Magistrate, Aligarh to consider the petitioner's application for issuance of fire arm licence and pass a reasoned and speaking order, strictly in accordance with law preferably within a period of one month from the date of production of certified copy of this order.
The writ petition is disposed of.
It is made clear that this Court has not adjudicated upon the merits of the claim as raised by the petitioner in the present writ petition.
