1. On oral request, learned counsel for the petitioner is permitted to implead the State Bank of India as respondent no.5 during the course of the day.
2. Shri Pankaj Kumar Ojha, Advocate, holding brief of Shri Vivek Mishra has appeared for the newly impleaded respondent.
3. Solitary submission made by learned counsel for the petitioner is that the petitioner is entitled to loan redemption under the Uttar Pradesh Government Crop Loan Redemption Scheme - 2017. In this regard, the petitioner further claims to have made applications to respondent no.3/District Magistrate, Jhansi to grant of that benefit, vide his applications dated 08.09.2017 and 16.12.2017.
4. It is, thus, submitted that sufficient time has passed, the petitioner's applications have yet not been decided, while the bank is pressing for recovery.
5. In such fact, no useful purpose would be served in keeping this petition pending. Hence, the petition is disposed of with the following directions:
(i) The petitioner shall file a certified copy of this order alongwith attested copies of his applications 08.09.2017 and 16.12.2017 together with proof of filing of such representation within a period of two weeks from today.
(ii) Upon such application/representation being filed, the District Magistrate, Jhansi may pass appropriate orders on his representation within a period of two months from the date of the representation being filed.
(iii) In case the District Magistrate, Jhansi is inclined to reject the application/representation of the petitioner, he may pass a reasoned order strictly in accordance with law.
