JUDGMENT / ORDER

K.K. SASIDHARAN,J.
The petitioner submitted an application dated 03.12.2016 before the Revenue Divisional Officer, Krishnagiri requesting to issue a community certificate to him and his wife and children. Since follow up was not taken by the Revenue Divisional Officer, the petitioner is before this Court.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader on behalf of the respondent.
3. The third respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the application submitted by the petitioner dated 03.12.2016 for Community Certificate on merits as expeditiously as possible and in any case, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
4. We make it clear that this direction is issued on account of the pendency of the application since long time and it should not be construed to be an expression of opinion on the merits of the matter. In short, the application, should be decided in accordance with law and in the light of the settled legal principles in the matter governing the issuance of Scheduled Tribe Certificate.
5. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
