This petition is directed for consideration of the application of the petitioner for grant of fire-arm license under Section 14 of the Arms Act, 1959 pending before the licensing authority since 1.2.2019.
It is contended by the learned counsel for the petitioner that there is already a police report in this connection yet the licensing authority has not proceeded to consider the application of the petitioner either way, therefore, he has moved this petition for a direction for disposal of the same.
Learned Standing counsel has no objection in case if a time bond period is prescribed for disposal of the application of the petitioner for grant of fire-arm license.
In view of the above the writ petition is disposed of with the direction that the application of the petitioner for the grant of fire-arm license shall be disposed of by the licensing authority, namely, the District Magistrate concerned, in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible within a period of three months from the date of production of certified copy of the order.
