Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the record.
The present petition has been filed for a direction upon the respondent no. 2 (District Magistrate/ Licensing Authority, Kanpur Nagar) to grant firearm license to the petitioner within a stipulated period.
It is contended by learned counsel for the petitioner that he has moved an application on 28.10.2017 before respondent no. 2 for grant of firearm license but, till date, the same has not been decided.
Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the petition is disposed of with a direction to District Magistrate to decide the application of the petitioner strictly in accordance with law within a period of two months from the date of production of certified copy of the order.
It is made clear that the Court has not adjudicated the matter on merits.
