The sole prayer made in the instant petition is for issuing direction to the court below to decide the Election Petition No.01 of 2017, said to have been filed by the petitioner under Section 20 of U.P. Nagar Palika Act, 1916 within a specified time frame.
Counsel for the petitioner states that so far written statement has not been filed.
Having regard to the facts of the case, the instant petition is disposed of by directing the Election Tribunal to ensure speedy disposal of the election petition by fixing short date and without granting unnecessary adjournments.
