This writ petition has been filed challenging the election of respondent no.5 on the basis of the fact that the nomination papers etc. were defective.
Learned Standing Counsel submitted that the petitioner has an efficacious alternative remedy of filing an election petition under section 12-C of the Panchayat Raj Act, 1947.
Under such circumstances, no interference is warranted. The petitioner may avail such remedy as might be available under law.
The writ petition is, accordingly, dismissed.
