Heard Sri Chandra Prakash Pandey, counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing counsel.
By means of the present writ petition, the petitioner seeks a direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondent no. 2- District Magistrate, Farrukhabad to decide the application dated 20.8.2020 for transfter of arm licence of DBBL Gun licence No. 2700/1358 in favour of the petitioner within a stipulated period of time.
Contention of the learned counsel for petitioner is that admittedly the licence was issued in favour of father of the petitioner who is senior citizen and suffering form old age ailments, after his consent, the petitioner filed an application dated 20.8.2020 to transfer the licence on the basis of his legal heirs. It is next contended that the application was moved in a prescribed proforma but till date, the same has not been decided by the respondent no.2-District Magistrate, Farrukhabad.
In the facts and circumstances of the case, direction is issued upon respondent no. 2- District Magistrate, Farrukhabad to decide the application dated 20.8.2020 to transfer the arm licence of DBBL Gun in favour of the petitioner as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of six months.
The concerned Authority/Official shall verify the authenticity of computerized copy of this order from the official website of High Court Allahabad and shall act accordingly without waiting for submission of the certified copy of this order.
With the above direction, the writ petition stands finally disposed of. No order as to costs.
