JUDGMENT / ORDER

Court No. - 40
Case :- WRIT - C No. - 16785 of 2021 Petitioner :- Smt. Geeta Rani And Another Respondent :- State Of U P And 3 Others Counsel for Petitioner :- Kamlesh Kumar Singh Counsel for Respondent :- C.S.C.
Hon'ble Jayant Banerji,J.
Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for respondent nos. 1,2 and 3.
This petition has been filed for a direction to respondents not to interfere in the peaceful married life of the petitioners.
It is contended by the learned counsel for the petitioners that both the petitioners are adults and have voluntarily entered into matrimony on 5.3.2021 and since then, they are residing peacefully as husband and wife. However, respondent no.4, who is father of petitioner No.1 is threatening the petitioners from dire consequences and in this regard, an application dated 7.3.2021 has been moved before the Senior Superintendent of Police, Bareilly.
Learned Standing Counsel has opposed by stating that the application stated to be filed by the petitioners does not evince that the same has been served on the authority concerned.
Under the circumstances, no direction as sought for in this petition can be granted. However, in case the petitioners are being threatened, it is for them to pursue and seek appropriate remedy before the authorities concerned or to lodge an FIR or file a suit for injunction as they may be advised.
This writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of.
Order Date :- 27.7.2021 sfa/ (Jayant Banerji, J)
