It appears that the petitioner was engaged as Technical Assistant under MANREGA Scheme in the year 2008. Petitioner's last engagement was for a period of 12 months w.e.f. 1.4.2013 to 31.3.2014. It further appears that the petitioner had gone abroad in search of better career avenues and it is alleged that his passport was lost, on account of which he could return after about 5-6 months. Petitioner, thereafter has made an application for being taken in employment.
Petition is opposed by the learned Standing Counsel.
In the facts and circumstances of this case, this Court finds that the petitioner's engagement after 31.3.2014 has not been renewed. Considering the nature of engagement, petitioner has otherwise no right. It further appears that the petitioner was looking for better job prospects abroad and having failed, he cannot be permitted to seek extension of engagement/fresh engagement on the strength of his previous working.
Writ petition fails and is, accordingly, dismissed.
