Special Civil Application No.6863 of 1992 was filed by the petitioner making a grievance against the order of reversion from the post of Associate Professor to Assistant Professor, whereas Special Civil Application No.6262 of 1993 was filed with a prayer for promotion to the post of Professor.
Today when the petitions were posted on board, learned Senior Advocate Mr. J.R. Nanavati with learned advocate Mr. D.S. Vasavada for the petitioner stated that the petitioner has been promoted to the post of Professor (PR) by order dated 10.01.2012 and has also taken charge of the promotional post. He produced copy of the said order, which is taken on record.
Learned advocate for the petitioner stated that in view of the promotion to the petitioner having been granted, the petitions no more survive.
Accordingly, both the petitions are disposed of as not surviving. Rule is discharged in both the petitions. Interim relief, if any, stands vacated. Needless to say that in case of necessity, petitioner can always approach the Court.
