1. Heard Shri Dinesh Pathak, learned counsel for petitioner.
2. Writ petition was filed initially with the sole prayer that respondents should be directed for giving an opportunity to petitioner to appear in interview for the post of Assistant Professor (Sociology) for which interview was held on 24/25.06.2014.
3. This matter was taken up on 24.06.2014 and 25.06.2014 and in the meantime interview and selection process has already completed, result was declared and thereupon Swati Mishra, respondent no. 5, has appointed. The writ petition has been amended challenging appointment of respondent no. 5 on the ground that Selection Committee has not properly examined the matter of petitioner and not awarded interview marks, correctly.
3. In our view challenge is basically on the merit of assessment made by Selection Committee. This Court does not sit in appeal to examine assessment made by Selection Committee. Moreover, petitioner has a statutory alternative remedy before Vice Chancellor of the University. Hence, we do not find any reason to interfere. Writ Petition is accordingly dismissed on the ground of alternative remedy.
