1. Called in revise. None appeared on behalf of the petitioner to press this writ petition. Learned Standing Counsel is present for respondents.
2. By means of the present writ petition, petitioner has sought following reliefs:
"(i) to issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of certiorari calling for the record and quashing the order dated 21.8.2002 annexure -9 to the writ petition and order dated 22.8.2001 (Annexure- 6 to the writ petition).
(ii) to issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondents to appoint the petitioner on the post of Accounts Clerk (Shasan) in existing vacancy in Samaj Kalyan Department U.P. Shasan within 15 days of the production of the order of this Hon'ble Court.
(iii) to issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to confer all the benefits of seniority and salary to the petitioner with respect to the post of Accounts Clerk (Shasan) Samaj Kalyan Department from the date persons lower in the merit than the petitioner has been appointed in pursuance of the same selection."
3. I myself have gone through the pleadings, grounds as also reliefs sought and find that petitioner is not able to make out a case so as to justify interference of this Court by granting reliefs, as prayed for.
4. Moreover, it appears that either the cause of action no more survives or that petitioner has lost interest in this matter or it has otherwise become infructuous and, probably for this reason, none is interested to have decided this matter on merits and that is why, counsel for petitioner is absent.
5. Dismissed. Interim order, if any, stands vacated.
