JUDGMENT / ORDER

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents, apart from perusing the record. Since the issue lies in a narrow compass, the writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage itself. 2. Briefly stated, the petitioner was appointed in the respondent Corporation (KSRTC) on 03.11.1979 as provisional Conductor, and had his services regularized with effect from 24.05.2001. The petitioner, having retired on 31.03.2010, claims to have achieved a continuous service of 30 years, including daily wage service. Admittedly, the regular service of the petitioner comes to 9 years and 24 days.
3. After retirement, on the grant of gratuity by respondent Corporation through Exhibit P1, the petitioner W.P.(c) No. 25405 of 2014 2 claimed that he was also entitled to monthly pension, for his regular service of 9 years and 24 days should be rounded off to treat it as 10 years, which is the requisite period for the purpose of pensionary benefits. Accordingly, the petitioner is said to have submitted Exhibit P3 representation before the first respondent for the sanction of ex-gratia pension. The grievance of the petitioner is that so far Exhibit P3 representation has not been disposed of by the first respondent.
4. In the facts and circumstances, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Court disposes of the present writ petition with a direction to the first respondent to consider Exhibit P3 representation of the petitioner in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders thereon, as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.
Writ the above observation, this writ petition is disposed of.
