The petitioner is having 5 kilowatt electric connection No. 8428/094704.
The petitioner is in arrears of electricity dues most probably from 2013. The petitioner is unable to inform the amount of arrears due and payable by him.
He is, however, disputing the said amount and submits that the petitioner is ready and willing to make the payment of the current bills excluding the arrears and that his representation in that regard dated 24.12.2018 sent to the Executive Engineer, respondent No.3 be directed to be decided within a time bound period.
Since the petitioner is not aware of the amount of arrears of the dues, he cannot possibly dispute the correctness of the said amount. In such a situation, he cannot be absolved even for an interim period from making the payment of the outstanding amount.
In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances, as the petitioner disputes the correctness of the arrears of the electricity dues, we dispose off the writ petition with the direction to the respondent No.3 to consider and decide the aforesaid representation of the petitioner dated 24.12.2018, if it has been received by him, in accordance with law, most expeditiously, if possible, within a period of 1 month from the date a copy of this order is produced before him.
