K.I.Kazi, learned advocate for the applicant submitted that in the instant matter, the petitioners have made representation dated 27.06.2011 seeking for police protection but the same was addressed to District Collector, Dist. Porbandar and its copy was forwarded to Dy. S.P., S.C.S.T. Cell, Porbandar. He submitted that since the representation was not made for police protection before the concerned Superintendent of Police, Porbandar, but said representation was also addressed to District Collector, Porbandar. Mr. Kazi, learned advocate for the petitioners, therefore, submitted that the petitioners shall make appropriate representation for police protection, addressed to District Superintendent of Police, Dist. Porbandar and it is requested that as soon as such representation is filed, the concerned D.S.P may be directed to decide the same within the time, which may be stipulated by this Court. He submitted that accordingly, this application may be disposed of.

Upon the above statement being made by Mr. Kazi, learned advocate for the petitioners, the instant application stands disposed of with specific direction that, if at all the petitioners are desirous to get police protection, they may apply to the concerned Dist. Superintendent of Police for police protection, and upon such representation being received by the concerned D.S.P., the same shall be decided at the earliest, in accordance with law and rules, preferably within 15 days from the date of receipt of such representation. Direct service is permitted.
