Heard Sri Pradeep Kumar, learned counsel for the petitioners and learned Standing Counsel for the respondents.
The petitioners who are working as 'Blue Printers' in the office of Chief Town & Country Planning Development Uttar Pradesh have filed this petition seeking parity in pay with that of 'Electrical Mechanic', alleging that the qualification possessed by both of them are same and that they are also discharging the same nature of function/work.
A bare perusal of the impugned order reveals that the two posts are different and that the nature of work is also totally different as is evident from the office order dated 10th August, 2018. The work assigned to the 'Electrical Mechanic' is to work as 'Electrical Mechanic' at the office of repairing electric line etc. whereas the work liable to be discharged by the 'Blue Printer' (Pravidhik) is to prepare blue copies of maps and to make copies of the same by printing through stencils and cyclostyle machine. Infact it is also not the case that both posts have the same qualification, inasmuch as different work experience (nature and length), is required for the two posts. It cannot be said that persons working on these posts would be discharging the same duties which may be equated so as to grant parity in the payment of salary.
In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances, the writ petition in our opinion is not tenable and is accordingly, dismissed.
