Heard Mr. Santosh Yadav, learned counsel for the petitioners, Mr. Ramanand Pandey, learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel for respondent Nos.1, 3 and 4 and Mr. Manoj Kumar Singh, learned counsel for respondent No.2.
The only prayer made in the writ petition reads thus:
"a) issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondents especially respondent no.4 to take steps for holding elections of the petitioner society in view of the requisition already sent by its Secretary on 12.02.2018."
We have perused the Uttar Pradesh State Co-operative Societies Election Rules, 2014, which provide a mechanism for approaching the concerned authorities for holding of elections of a society. On being confronted with this, counsel for the petitioners prays for withdrawal of the writ petition with liberty to the petitioners to approach the concerned authority for similar prayer. Petition is disposed of, as withdrawn, with liberty as prayed.
