Petitioner appears to be a transporter engaged in transport of cattle. It has approached this Court for a direction upon the authorities to prevent misuse of the provisions of Section 3/5A/8 of the Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act, 1955 and Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act, 1960 and to ensure the petitioners from unnecessary harassment at the hands of the police persons.
The authorities of State are merely expected to act for observance of the provisions of the Act of 1955 or the Act of 1960, only. In the event there is any specific act of any authority acting contrary to law, the petitioner can always bring it to the notice of the appropriate authority. A general writ would not be issued to the authorities as it is otherwise expected that they shall act only in accordance with law. No specific act has otherwise been alleged in the writ and only on general allegations a writ petition would not be entertained for such purposes.
Subject to the observations made above, this writ petition is consigned to records.
