The writ petition was filed with the allegation that there is a threat to life and liberty of petitioner/applicant at the hands of notorious criminal. The petition was allowed in part and a direction was issued for providing security to the petitioner/applicant. The person from whom petitioner/applicant had perceived threat to his life has already died. The petitioner/applicant, therefore, submits that he is no longer in need of any police protection, but the authorities have not accepted the petitioner's request to withdraw his security only because the protection was granted under orders of this Court.
Since the cause for which the petition was filed and the order was passed by this Court on 18th March, 2013 has ceased to exist, we allow the present review application and recall the order dated 18.3.2013.
In view of the stand taken by the petitioner, the writ petition is dismissed as not pressed.
