Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel.
On an earlier writ petition preferred by the petitioner assailing an order of cancellation of his arm licence, a learned Judge of the Court had disposed of that petition with the observation that it would be open to the petitioner to apply for "revocation" (sic) revival of the arms licence on conclusion of the criminal case. It is pointed out that the criminal case which was pending at that stage has since ended and the petitioner has been acquitted in terms of the judgment of the competent Court rendered on 21 March 2015.
In view thereof learned Standing Counsel states that subject to verification of all facts and the petition moving an appropriate application alongwith a certified copy of the judgment of the competent Court within a period of two weeks from today, the Licencing Authority shall duly evaluate the application so made and pass a reasoned order in respect thereof within a period of four months therefrom.
The statement so made is recorded and accepted. The petition shall stand disposed of on the above terms.
