2. Heard the learned counsel for the parties.
3. The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of a writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to dispose of the pending appeal dated 9.3.2015 filed under Section 10 of Land Encroachment Act, 1905 within a stipulated time.
4. Challenging the proceedings initiated under Section 6 of the Tamil Nadu Land Encroachment Act, 1905, the petitioner preferred an appeal under Section 10 of the said Act before the first respondent. However, till date the same has not been considered by the first respondent. Hence, the petitioner has filed this writ petition.
5. Considering the narrow scope of the prayer made in this writ petition, we direct the first respondent to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner under Section 10 of the said Act on merits and in accordance with law within three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
